Abukhadzhi Idrisov

Abukhadzhi Idrisov (Абухажи Идрисов) (17 May 1918, Berdikel, Chechen-Ingush ASSR – 22 October 1983, Grozny, Chechen-Ingush ASSR) was a Soviet Chechen soldier who fought in World War II. He was a sniper who killed more than 349 German soldiers. Idrisov was discharged in March 1944 after the deportation of Chechens and Ingush nationals to concentration camps on 23 February 1944. He returned to his native Chechnya in 1957, as repressed nations became rehabilitated under Khrushchov.
