Akanalçı family
The Akanalçı family is a Turkish family of business people founded by İbrahim Akanalçı, one of the wealthiest self-made people in Karşıyaka district of İzmir, Turkey. His grandsons, the fourth generations of the Akanalçı family, reside mainly in İzmir still today. The first member of the family, who was known to use the name "Akanalçı" was Cemal Akanalçı, born in late 19th century. The name means "flowing plaster of Paris" in Turkish.
