It is the largest network of fuel filling stations in Azerbaijan followed by Lukoil and SOCAR. The company is one of the largest employers in Azerbaijan as well with more than 2,770 employees. The General Director of Azpetrol from 1997 to 2005 was Rafig Aliyev, who was the brother of Farhad Aliyev, then Minister of Economic Development (2001-2005).
