The B-Gendarmerie was the predecessor of the Federal Armed Forces in Allied-occupied Austria after World War II and an equivalent to the Federal Border Guards (Bundesgrenzschutz, BGS) in West Germany and the Baracked People´s Police (Kasernierte Volkspolizei, KVP) in East Germany.
