Bachwürfel

The Bachwürfel (English: Bach-Cube) is an Austrian confectionery created 1985 on occasion of composer Johann Sebastian Bach's tercentenary by Salzburg confectioner Norbert Fürst. The cubical candy consists of a layer of marzipan, nut-truffle and coffee truffle, superimposed upon each other and coated in dark chocolate. Originally produced as a limited special edition of confectionery, it proved so popular with consumers it became a staple product of the cafe and sweetmeat shop Fürst.
