Blakstad, Aust-Agder

Blakstad is a village which is the administrative centre of the municipality of Froland in Aust-Agder county, Norway. It is located along the river Nidelva, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northwest of the city of Arendal. The village has grown together with the neighboring village of Osedalen, and the combined population (2009) is 2,083. The village area covers about 2.15 square kilometres (0.83 sq mi). The Arendal Line, a branch of the Sørland Line and part of the Norwegian State Railways stops at the Blakstad Station.
