The station is owned by the Société Radio-Canada arm of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, as part of a twinstick with CBC Television owned-and-operated station CBXT-DT (channel 5). The two stations share studios on 75th Street West at the Edmonton City Centre, across from Winston Churchill Square, in downtown Edmonton, CBXFT's transmitter is located in Sherwood Park.
