CCGS Caporal Kaeble is the second of nine Hero-class patrol vessels to be delivered to the Canadian Coast Guard . The vessel is named after Joseph Kaeble, a winner of the Victoria Cross in the First World War. On February 10, 2011 the London Free Press reported that CCGS Caporal Kaeble V.C., and her sister ship CCGS Private Robertson V.C. will patrol the Great Lakes. According to CBC News Canadian Minister of Defence Peter MacKay announced that Canada was considering arming the Hero-class vessels, during a speech he delivered at the unveiling ceremony.
