CJWI (1410 AM) – also known as CPAM Radio Union - is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Quebec. Its studios are located on East Cremazie Boulevard in Montreal. Owned and operated by Groupe Médias Pam Inc., a licensee owned by Jean-Ernest Pierre, an Haitian-born lawyer and businessman who immigrated to Canada in the late 1970s, CJWI used to broadcast on 1610 kHz with a power of 1,000 watts as a class C station, using an omnidirectional antenna. Because of its location on a sparsely populated extended band frequency, its signal has been heard by DXers everywhere in North America since it opened during the summer of 2002. The station received CRTC approval to operate a new French-language ethnic AM radio station in Montréal on November 7, 2001.
