Cathedral Academy (formerly Cathedral School) is both an 11-16 voluntary controlled Church of England secondary school, in addition to a Performing Arts college with academy status. The school has places for 1050 students, and there are currently 997 pupils on the school roll. Cathedral Academy has a national reputation for excellence, and houses a Post 16 Performing Arts Academy (CAPA) with 60 student places. The school holds the Artsmark gold award, and has won numerous Dance competitions throughout the country.
