Chazara briseis

The Hermit (Chazara briseis) is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. It can be found in North Africa, Southern Europe, Asia Minor, the Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Middle Asia through Afghanistan, and North-Western China and Tuva. The wingspan is 45–60 mm. The butterflies fly from July to September depending on the location. The larvae feed on Sesleria coerulea and Gramineae, Sesleria, Festuca, Stipa, Poa, Brachypodium and Lolium species.
