David Richard Heitmeier (born November 1961) is an optometrist from his native New Orleans, Louisiana, who is a Democratic member of the Louisiana State Senate for District 7 in Orleans Parish. First elected in 2007, he was eligible to seek a third term in the nonpartisan blanket primary held on October 24, 2015, but he instead declined to run again.
