Erythroferrone

Erythroferrone is a protein hormone, abbreviated as ERFE, encoded in humans by the FAM132B gene. Erythroferrone is produced by erythroblasts, inhibits the action of hepcidin, and so increases the amount of iron available for hemoglobin synthesis.
