The Heysham to M6 Link Road is a 4.8-kilometre-long (3.0 mi) dual carriageway linking the Heysham and Morecambe peninsula to Junction 34 of the M6 motorway. It will be opened in October 2016. In the process Junction 34 will be remodelled again. After a competition run by The Bay radio station, the road has been named 'The Bay Gateway'.
