Ipswich Star
The Ipswich Star (formerly Evening Star) is a daily evening local newspaper based in Ipswich. The newspaper started publication on 17 February 1885 and was known as The Star of the East until 1893. The newspaper has run a number of campaigns ranging from saving hospitals, to catching murderers. The newspaper has maintained such a campaign to catch the murderer of Ipswich woman Karen Hales since 1993. Sports coverage is dominated by Ipswich Town Football Club and the Ipswich Witches speedway team, which the newspaper sponsors. The current editor is Terry Hunt.
