Jacana Football Club

Jacana Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 16 km north of Melbourne in the suburb of Jacana and is affiliated with the Essendon District Football League. The Jacana Football Club was founded in 1961, as a junior club fielding an Under 15s team. In 1965 the senior club was established and fielded teams in every age group. The Jacana Pavilion was then opened on 9 July 1966, by the Mayor J.A. Culpin. The original Jacana jumper was purple with a yellow JFC monogram. The club then changed to a gold V which was used up to 2006. In 2007 the club reverted to the original jumper.
