Jaredites
The religious traditions of Latter-day Saint movement speak of the Jaredites (/ˈdʒɛərdaɪts/) as one of four groups (along with the Nephites, Lamanites, and Mulekites) which Mormons believe settled in the ancient Americas. The Book of Mormon (mainly the Book of Ether) describes the Jaredites as the descendants of Jared and his brother, who lived at the time of the Tower of Babel. According to the Book of Mormon, the people fled across the ocean on unique barges and established an ancient civilization in the Americas.
