This location is situated at the junction of the Ipswich - Rosewood Road and the Ebenezer Road, 42 km (26 mi) from the Brisbane CBD. The origin of the name is from an Aboriginal word meaning flying squirrel gully. New Hope Corporation Ltd has restarted mining coal at its Jeebropilly coal mine, which it had previously closed in 2007.
