It was recorded during two sold-out shows at the Chain Reaction music venue in Anaheim, California between March 27—28, 2013. It was first released on October 7, 2013 in the United Kingdom, before its wider release in other regions soon after. It was issued through imprint label Violently Happy Records, a partnership between independent label Bridge Nine Records and the band's guitarist Chad Gilbert.
