Mariceae

Mariceae is a tribe included in the Iridaceae family, Iridoideae subfamily. It's the smallest tribe in this subfamily because It contains only three closely related genera. The species are wildly distributed only in South and Central America. A big part of the members are native to Brazil. They represents tropical plants which grows mainly in moist environments. The rootstock is rhizome, the leaves are traditionally sword-shaped. The blooms are collected in inflorescence and contains six tepals. Three of them are different from the others.
