Old Harbor U.S. Life Saving Station
The Old Harbor U.S. Life Saving Station is a historic station, originally located at Nauset Beach, near the entrance to Chatham Harbor in Chatham, Massachusetts. It is now located in Provincetown, Massachusetts, at the end of Race Point Road, where it was moved in 1977 because it was threatened by erosion. The site is used as a park exhibit, and contains a Race Point surfboat and dory. Once a week during the summer, the Park Service holds live demonstrations of the deployment of a breeches buoy during rescues at the turn of the twentieth century.
