Palmitos Park

Palmitos Park is a 20-hectare (49-acre) botanical garden, aviary and zoo on the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. The subtropical park is situated in the south of the island, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of the tourist beaches and dunes of Maspalomas, but towards the interior. One feature of the park is the great wealth of cacti and succulents. There are over 160 different cactus types, and 1000 palm trees of 42 different types. Palmitos Park holds Europe's largest butterfly venue, as well as the biggest Orchid collection on the island.
