Pancha-Dravida

Pancha Dravida is one of the two major groupings of Brahmins in Hinduism, of which the other was Pancha-Gauda. According to Kalhana's Rajatarangini, the Pancha Dravida group includes the following five Brahmin communities residing to the south of the Vindhyas: 1. * Gurjara (Gujarati Brahmins) 2. * Maharashtraka (Maharashtrian Brahmins) 3. * Karnataka (Kannada Brahmins) 4. * Talianga (Telugu Brahmins) 5. * Dravida (Brahmins of Tamil Nadu and Kerala)
