Paul Michael Weir is the head men's basketball coach at New Mexico State University (NMSU). He was named to the position on April 26, 2016 as the successor to Marvin Menzies, who the previous week had accepted the head coaching position of the UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team. Weir had been an assistant at the university, where he arrived in 2007 as an assistant in Menzies' first year. Weir came to NMSU after spending two years as an assistant coach under Steve Alford at the University of Iowa. The NMSU job is Weir's first head coaching position at the college level.
