Shujat Zamir Dar gained commission in the Pakistani Army in 1972. He held various appointments in the Pakistan Army. With the rank of Major General he served as Inspector General of the Frontier Corps Of Balochistan from 2004 to 2007. He has also served as Deputy Chairman of NAB in 2002. In 2007,he was promoted to rank of Lieutenant General and also served as chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories.In 2000 on 60th independence day he was decorated with Sitara-i-Basalat.
