Visa requirements for Taiwanese citizens

Visa requirements for Taiwanese passport holders are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on nationals of Republic of China. There are two types of nationals: Nationals with Household Registration ("NWHR"), and thus with right of abode in Taiwan; and Nationals without Household Registration ("NWOHR") with no rights of abode in Taiwan. Nationals with Household Registration are entitled to a National Identification Card and the National ID number is printed on the passport biodata page. Many countries and territories have more favorable visa regimes for those holding passports with National ID number. NWOHRs using a ROC passport to enter Taiwan require an entry permit and are subject to immigration controls.
