The main economic activities of the area are forestry and tourist activities. The Zec Rivière-Saint-Jean-du-Saguenay is managing segments of Saint-Jean River (Saguenay). While "Zec de l'Anse-Saint-Jean" administers public lands, mainly forested land surrounding the river.
