Beesd

Beesd is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of West Betuwe, and lies about 16 km west of Tiel. It is situated near the river Linge and has a railway station on the railway from Dordrecht to Geldermalsen. In 2001, the town of Beesd had 3141 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.83 km2, and contained 1185 residences.The statistical area "Beesd", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3650. There is a restored windmill in the town, De Vrijheid.
