CDS – People's Party

The CDS – People's Party (Portuguese: CDS – Partido Popular, derived from Centro Democrático e Social – Partido Popular, CDS–PP) is a conservative, Christian democratic political party in Portugal. It is characterized as being between the centre-right and right-wing of the political spectrum. In voting ballots, the party's name appears only as the People's Party, with the acronym CDS–PP unchanged. The National Congress of the party held on 25–26 January 2020, elected Francisco Rodrigues dos Santos as the new leader and as the vice-president.
