Jacobswoude

Jacobswoude (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈjaːkɔpsˌʋʌudə] ) is a former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland, now part of municipality Kaag en Braassem. Before the merger with Alkemade, the municipality covered an area of 41.37 km² (25.71 mile²) of which 4.88 km² (3.03 mile²) is water, mainly the lakes and . It consisted of the communities , Hoogmade, Leimuiden, Rijnsaterwoude, and Woubrugge, all located around the above-mentioned lakes. It had a population of 10,692 on 1 January 2004.
