The Social Movement «For a New Socialism» (Russian: Общественное движение «За новый социализм»; Obshchestvennoye dvizheniye «Za novyy sotsializm») is a social movement led by Russian politician, diplomat, political scientist and historian Nikolay Platoshkin. The goal of the movement is to restore renewed socialism in Russia by peaceful legal means - through elections. Renewed socialism is supposed to be socialism with the preservation of private property, with state support for small and medium-sized businesses, with full party democracy and diversity of opinions, with a mixed economy.
