O Patriarcado de Moscou, assim como seu Primaz, está oficialmente em quinto lugar na ordem de precedência ortodoxa (díptico), imediatamente após os quatro antigos Patriarcados da Igreja Ortodoxa: Constantinopla, Alexandria, Antioquia e Jerusalém.
