The Civil Engagement group
The Civil Engagement Group is a political grouping in the Irish upper house of parliament, formed in May 2016 by Independent senators Alice Mary Higgins, Frances Black, Lynn Ruane and John Dolan along with the Green Party Senator Grace O'Sullivan. Independent Senator Colette Kelleher subsequently joined the group after being nominated to Seanad Eireann by the Taoiseach. The Green Party formed a separate technical grouping in Dáil Éireann with the Social Democrats in May 2016.
